Aveline Spinner Ring
$ 299.00
An injury sustained by a primary caregiver left Aveline without a parental role model when she was just 12 years old. It started out slowly, her mom would just nap in the afternoons. Then the progress seemed to snowball, as Aveline would find her mom asleep at the lunch table, her forehead in her plate of food. Things like this would happen often, and she found herself checking her mom for a pulse almost on a daily basis. It was around this time that she realized her mom was addicted to painkillers, and they had a heart to heart. Aveline told her mom if she continued, she would have to abandon their relationship, and kick her out of the house. Her mother checked herself into a rehab clinic soon after, and successfully completed treatment. 20 years later, she is not only Aveline’s mother, she is great-grandmother to twin girls.
The Aveline ring was created as a way to remind you to be present in the moment. If Aveline had this ring, she would have twisted the spinners all during her childhood, as the three are meant to signify specific things: past, future and present. Your past is over, and the only thing it can offer you is lessons learned. The future is ahead of us, and not worth dwelling on, but the present is the biggest spinner because it is the most important, right now. The wavy contour of the ring is meant to characterize the unexpected flow of life, and the bands surround the contour and are free spinning because we have control over our decisions.
Each Aveline ring is created by hand, and starts with a sheet of 22 gauge Argentium Sterling Silver that is cut into the signature shape. It is then soldered closed and refined. The ring is partially hammered into shape and the spinners are added. Ultimately, the ring is hammered into its final shape and polished.
The central spinner is 14K solid rose gold.
